New Performing Arts Venue, Queensland
The New Performing Arts Venue comprises of a minimum 1,500 seat theatre to be located at the Playhouse Green, co-located at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) precinct. McKenzie Group are Buidling Surveying and Access Consultants on the project. Expected to be completed in late 2022, the new theatre will host diverse and high-quality performing arts that showcase local, national and international productions to meet Queensland’s growing demand for performing arts.
The new theatre’s design will be sympathetic to the existing original intent of QPAC, yet contributes as a distinct structure for the precinct. Key features include two new studio spaces, transparent foyer spaces and a single balcony auditorium delivering enhanced audience sight lines.
