Stephen Natilli – Executive Director

Unrestricted Accreditation in VIC and NSW

Steve is the Director of the National Group. Steve has successfully completed numerous large scale projects across the country and has gained unique expertise over a range of projects types in different legislative regions throughout Australia.

Steve has been involved in the development and building surveying profession for over 20 years, and has gained a diverse range of experience working large scale complex projects requiring specifically tailored compliance solutions.

Mark Cogo

Mark Cogo – Non-Executive Director

Unrestricted Accreditation in QLD

Mark established the Queensland Office and is the Director of the National group. Mark has successfully completed numerous projects across the country and has gained unique expertise over a range of projects types in different legislative regions throughout Australia.

Mark has been involved in the development and building surveying profession for over 20 years and has gained a diverse range of experience working large scale complex projects requiring specifically tailored compliance solutions.

Michael Leighton – Chief Operating Officer

Michael has been providing Building Surveying and Private Certification services since 2004 and after joining the business in 2007, Michael has remained a permanent fixture in a number of landmark McKenzie Group projects.

Michael has held the position of Queensland Business Partner from 2011 which saw him responsible for the management of the state’s operations. During this time, Michael honed his experience across a diverse range of projects including a variety of large-scale health, multi-residential, institutional, industrial, retail and high-rise commercial development.

In early 2023, Michael was appointed as Chief Operating Officer for McKenzie Group Consulting in a national operating capacity.

Geoffrey Pearce

Geoffrey Pearce

Unrestricted Accreditation in NSW 

Geoffrey was appointed a Partner at McKenzie Group Consulting (NSW) in July 2015 after being a member of the Management team for over 3 years. Geoffrey brings significant building surveying experience and performance based codes consultancy to his projects which range from retail developments through to large scale commercial and industrial projects, bringing a focused holistic approach to the approvals strategy for projects.

Geoffrey joined McKenzie Group Consulting as a graduating student in January 2003 which has seen him develop into an outstanding Building Surveyor, well known in the industry for his project delivery. Geoffrey has built a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise that enables younger Building Surveyors at McKenzie Group Consulting (NSW) to learn and develop their skills.

Geoffrey has been involved in the building regulations industry for over 11 years in NSW and ACT in the Private sector.

Stan Tsanstis

Stan Tsantis

Unrestricted Accreditation in VIC, SA and TAS 

Stan is responsible for the management of technical operations of the Victorian building surveying business unit. Stan brings to the consultancy extensive knowledge in the field of fire technology and performance based design solutions, this ensures his ability to deliver the best possible outcome to projects.

Stan joined McKenzie Group Consulting in June of 2003 in the capacity of Senior Building Surveyor and has over 20 years’ experience in the building industry in both Local Government and the Private Sector.

Frank Bakker

Frank Bakker

Frank joined McKenzie Group in 2018 and is the General Manager of McKenzie Group’s Compliance Management division with over 25 years’ experience in Fire and Life Safety, compliance management, Management of multi-disciplinary teams of Engineers and major project leadership. Frank has extensive experience in the sectors of commercial, health, compliance, industrial, mining, infrastructure and transport projects including roads, tunnels and aviation.

Frank brings extensive experience as a professional firefighter and fire safety officer and a Director of multi discipline engineering practice to the McKenzie Group leadership team.

Frank leverages his years of practical experience with formal design experience to provide innovative and practical compliance management solutions.
