The New Generation Rollingstock (NGRS) Project involved the purchase of 75, six-car train sets to cater for the increase in passenger services as South East Queensland grows, and to replace an aging train fleet.
The development included a main depot building, wheel lathe building and ancillary structures across the site such as a gate houses, stores, train crew facilities etc.
